When we say LifeMade products are better for the earth, we mean it. Our products have been tested and certified with these leading environmental standards organizations.
TUV Austria OK compost HOME and INDUSTRIAL
TÜV Austria is an independent certification program for products that meet all requirements of the European EN13432 standard. Packaging or products featuring the OK compost HOME label are guaranteed as biodegradable in a home composting environment.
Green Seal is a non-profit organization devoted to environmental standard setting, product certification, and public education. Green Seal-certified products have met product-specific performance, health and environmental requirements as well as labeling requirements within the use instructions and disposal statements.
All of LifeMade products are Green Seal certified.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®)
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC certified forest products are verified from the forest of origin through the supply chain. The FSC label ensures that the forest products used are from responsibly harvested and verified sources.
All of LifeMade’s paper packaging comes from FSC certified sources.
Biodegradable Products Institute
The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) is a science-driven organization that supports a shift to the circular economy by promoting the production, use, and appropriate end of lives for materials and products that are designed to fully biodegrade in specific biologically active environments.
The BPI certification program applies science-based testing to prove a material will compost in a municipal or commercial facility and leave no toxic or lingering plastic residues in the soil.
LifeMade’s Earth Friendly line of table top products meet the BPI certification for compostability.
How2Recycle is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates recycling instructions to the public. It involves a coalition of forward thinking brands who want their packaging to be recycled and are empowering consumers through smart packaging.
Terracycle runs national waste collection programs in 10 countries where non-recyclable post-consumer waste (used candy wrappers, tooth brushes, pens, juice pouches and many other categories of waste) is collected and made into new products and materials. The TerraCycle logo informs a consumer that the previously unrecyclable product or packaging will be collected and sent (postage paid) to TerraCycle for proper recycling.
LifeMade is looking to partner with organizations such as Terracycle which would further enhance our sustainability mission to include the collection and recycling of our products.
